Our teachers possess qualifications and credentials that significantly surpass State requirements! All child care teachers are required to meet minimum standards of 60 hours of college coursework, with 6 of those hours focused on Early Childhood Education, or to have obtained certification in Child Development. At Streamwood Montessori teachers hold Bachelor’s/Master’s Degrees, and have earned Montessori Certification and Special Education credits. Each teacher and assistant brings extensive professional and personal experience to our classrooms. In addition, every staff member holds (at minimum) a Level I credential in Early Childhood Education through the Illinois Gateways Program.

Background/Reference Checks

All Streamwood Montessori staff members have passed extensive background checks conducted by SACWIS (Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System), the Illinois State Police and the FBI.

Continuing Education

All teachers are required to complete a minimum of 15 hours of continuing education annually, in courses focusing on child development/early childhood education.

Safety and Sanitation

Each year our facility is inspected multiple times by the Cook County Health Department and the Streamwood Fire Department.  We are very proud of our safety and sanitation records and they are available for parent review.
